Reminder from the Assessor Please remember to assess your Vehicles, ATVs, Trailers, Tractors, Boats, Motors and all Business Persoanl Property before May 31st. The State of Arkansas requires all residents of Arkansas to assess on or before May 31st each year in order to avoid a 10% late penalty. Once the penalty has been applied, I am unable to remove that penalty. Also, I want to remind all homeowners that the State allows a Homestead Credit of up to $350.00 off of your taxes if the home is your principal place of residence. If you are 65 or older or disabled, you will qualify to have your taxes frozen. Even if the value of your home goes up due to inflation etc. your taxes will remain the same. All we need is for you to fill out a Homestead form or a copy of your drivers’ license for the tax freeze.
