| Scheduled Public Deadlines | Between January 1 and May 31 of the current year Personal Property and Business Personal Property must be assessed.
Real Estate is automatically assessed as of January 1 of the current year.
Homestead filing deadline is October 31 for the current taxes payable. Once filed, you do NOT have to re-file as long as you live in the same residence. If you move, you must file a new homestead on your new residence.
Deadline to file appeals with the County Equalization Baord is the third Monday in August each year. The Equalization Board will hear appeals for the current tax year, payable the following year. In Arkansas, the taxes payable in any year are the previous year's assessment.

Q: Can Business Personal Property be assessed over the phone?
A: No, you have to fill out the Business Assessment form each year.
Q: What information do I need to assess my vehicles?
A: Year model, make, model and vehicle identification number (VIN #).
Q: Why does my certificate of renewal for my vehicle show that I have not assessed or paid my taxes?
A: You have either not assessed for the current year, or your vehicle identification number is not in the system or is in the system wrong. If this happens, please contact our office to see if you have assessed or if we have the wrong VIN number.

| Legislative Duties | Appraisal and assessment of all real property between the first Monday in January and the first day of July. On and after January 1, 1991, taxpayers shall annually assess their tangible personal property for ad valorem taxes during the period from January 1 through May 31. The Assessor maintains property ownership records and is required to list all property in the county with proper legal descriptions.
